New Horizons School in Eurasia

The Need

Many local families desire “something different” for their children’s education. Today’s young parents are not satisfied with the status quo of the current school system and also want the best possible opportunities for their children. Access to quality education at an early age has been demonstrated in many studies to have positive long-lasting effects. The local public schools, while adequate, are often overcrowded and staffed by overtaxed teachers who are expected to teach not only the curriculum but also proper behavior to children oftentimes undisciplined at home. The result is often chaotic classrooms with lots of yelling and sometimes physical punishment. Add to that the stigma that is sometimes felt when others learn that a child comes from a minority background, and the classroom can be a daunting place for these children. Giving these children a chance to receive quality education could give them a leg up among their peers and help them become successful members of society with a greater opportunity to transform their communities.

Satisfying the Need

New Horizons Preschool will provide love and care for these young children through transformative education. New Horizon’s curriculum will focus on character-building with values, morals, and an emphasis on learning English. Small classes with local and native English-speaking teachers dedicated to the vision will ensure a transformational experience. We will provide need-based scholarships for students that normally cannot afford private education. Scholarship students bring diversity and provide opportunities for all students to learn more about their world.

Only $10,000 left to launch!

Our total project budget is $71,700. At this time, we have $41,700 in investments (2 local investors and 3 foreigner investors) and are securing $20,000 in loans.

We need to raise the final $10,000 of our start-up budget through the help of donors who believe in this project. These funds will be used to provide the school with educational tools and furnishings. This is needed by March 31, 2020 so that we can open our school in the Fall 2020.
